From the Rector

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

The asters, anemones, and autumn clematis in my garden are welcome signs that the heat of summer is subsiding, and that we are about to enjoy another glorious Hudson Valley fall. They also tell me that we are about to begin another program year at St. Mary's. As usual, there is a great deal on offer, and you can find more details elsewhere in the newsletter.

This coming Sunday is Homecoming Sunday, at which we will be welcoming back our Sunday School and full Schola Cantorum. Please tell a friend and join us! Of particular note is that our Sunday School has been growing, and we look forward to adding even more youngsters to the fold this year.

Next month we are delighted to welcome Bishop Mary Glasspool back to St. Mary's for her official visitation. Bishop Mary will preach and preside over the Holy Eucharist on October 13th, as well as perform confirmations and receptions. We already have two candidates, and if you know someone who is 13 or older and would like to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church, please let me know as soon as possible.

In Memoriam

Jo-Ann Matthews, a 55 year resident of Tuxedo Park, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 1, 2024. She was 78 years old. Click here to read the full obituary.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at St. Stephen’s RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.
