From the Rector

Dear Friends,

We are very pleased and excited to welcome members of the choir of St. James’s Church, Piccadilly, London this Sunday to St. Mary’s! Including our own singers, there will be about twenty voices in all. It will be cozy in the chancel, but the glorious sounds will be worth it. So please don’t let the weather forecast deter you.

Next week I will be attending the annual gathering of the Society of Catholic Priests, which is an Anglican society that started in England and later came here. I am also on the provincial council of the SCP and help in the conference planning. This year our host is S. Paul’s Cathedral in Buffalo, which looks to be a stunning church. We have exciting speakers and workshops planned throughout the week, and it is always good to see friends from across the country. On Wednesday, the celebrant will be Mtr. Ronnie Stout-Kopp; please make her welcome.

In Memoriam

We pray for the repose of the soul of Archibald Gwathmey, whose memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s-in-Tuxedo on Saturday, September 26th, at 11am. The full obituary may be found here.

NYC Visit from The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, Archbishop of Canterbury

Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue welcomes The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Dame Sarah Mullally DBE, Archbishop of Canterbury, on Sunday, September 27.

The Archbishop will preach at Evensong and Benediction at 4:00 PM. A reception in the church will follow the service. All are welcome to attend the service.

Blooming Hill Farm is excited to offer Tuxedo community support agriculture for the fall and holiday season of 2026, and St. Mary’s church has graciously offered to act as the pick up location.
