From the Rector

Dear Friends,

As is our custom, Pete and I will be hosting the annual rectory garden party this Sunday after church in place of coffee hour. Many of you know how passionate I am about gardening, and the grounds of the rectory provide no end of material to work with. Over the last nine seasons, little by little, the old gardens have come back to life. I know that one of my predecessors long ago had to be a gardener, based on the layout of the property, with its terraces and lawns. 

The greatest joy that any gardener feels is not "ownership" of the garden, for it is usually quite the opposite. Rather, it is in sharing the garden that he cultivates with others to give them a sense of beauty, serenity, and maybe some inspiration. 

I hope that you will join us on the grounds for some refreshments and a stroll this coming Sunday. And remember the words of Scripture: "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth." 1 Corinthians 3:6-7

Outreach - Summer Camp

Dear Friends,

It has become a tradition at St Mary's to help local children attend the summer day camp run by the Town of Tuxedo. We provide financial assistance to families who are not able to pay the full cost of the camp. This year, we seek to sponsor 18 children at a total cost of about $13,500.

St Mary's would be grateful for donations of whatever size to help us fund this year's campers. Checks should be made out to St Mary's Outreach, with memo 'Camp Sponsorship', or you can donate online.

Thank you for your support which will give five weeks of fun to 17 local children!
