From the RectorDear Parishioners and Friends, At the diocesan convention back in November, we heard from Bishop Melissa Skelton about an exciting program that is coming to the Diocese of New York, the College for Congregational Development. The CCD was started in the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia (Washington State) back in 2007, developed largely by Bishop Skelton. "The College for Congregational Development is a comprehensive training program that seeks to nurture and develop congregational development practitioners from within existing parish lay and clergy leadership. Most participants are members of teams from congregations within the Diocese of New York; however, the College is open to other participants and has hosted individuals and teams from other Episcopal Church dioceses and the broader Anglican Communion." "Thanks to the grants [the Diocese of New York] received for Episcopal Futures, you can register today at no cost to you or your congregation to attend the first sessions in 2023 and 2024." In our diocese, the format will be one-week intensives at the Holy Mountain Franciscan Retreat Center in Garrison. We would be registering for the June 25-30 session. Overnight accommodation is provided, but the commute from Tuxedo is only about 30 minutes. Meals are also provided.
