From the Senior Warden

Dear Friends,

Many of us walk daily, most often for me, it is with our faithful dog, Ellie. This is a peaceful time from the daily business of life and its busy routines. It is a time of quiet reflection and thanks for all that we enjoy in our beautiful community. This year’s campaign of “Walk in Love” is a walk we make together. Sometimes just on Sundays as we worship at St. Mary’s, but in reality it is a daily journey.

Throughout this year, there have been many times that we have been in each other’s company, whether at church, at a meal, a post office catch-up or a chat at coffee hour. These seem like simple acts, when we share our week, hear of a friend who needs help or just some time to listen.

I have been inspired by the ways you accompany each other. I have witnessed the way you care for the sick and shut-ins in our congregation. I have eaten  with you as you share your family news, updates on those who have been ailing, and plans for the coming months. I have watched as you supported each other when you were struggling or needed a hand. You too have helped me with words of encouragement when I needed it.

As we begin our Stewardship campaign, I invite you to make the journey you make with our congregation, our spiritual home Saint Mary’s, and the Tuxedo community. We are companions for each other as we navigate the ups and downs of our shared lives. It is what we do best, care for each other. Your time, talent and treasure, we all have them, are vital to our success.

This is what it means to be in community with each other – this is what ”Walking in Love” looks like.

Consecration Sunday

What an honor it was to welcome The Rt. Rev. Mary D. Glasspool last Sunday as we celebrated the 136th anniversary of the consecration of St. Mary’s. Congratulations to our newly confirmed Jennifer and our newly received Robert & Ann.
